I wanted to title this post as ‘Adrenaline Junkies’ but Google search referred it to being addicted to use of ‘ Epinephrine’. I have heard the use of Adrenaline Junkie as a figure of speech referring to people addicted to getting high via different acts dear to them. This posts is targeted towards doing things that give you a high(not necessarily a hangover).

Different people have different ways to get pumped up. find your way – that which is nourishing to you.

For me it is, among many things, it could be trying out a new hair or facial hair style, having a drink with friends, randomly saying something that is totally not true and see people react to it(no harm meant) or those random acts of kindness when I least expect of myself :-)

I have also come to realize that you also get identified for your, for lack of better words, Adrenalin Junkie’ness. I know I am.

Its about taking yourself a step higher purely to feel relaxed in that plane. The target should be different from getting high on alcohol or drugs.

Think about what will be your frame of mind, if you always look to achieve a slightly ‘above normal’ frame of mind…you are on your toes, energized, fresh and you get so much work done.

For me, writing is one such ‘rush’… when I get sudden flow of words, I write them done even if it is when I am working on other stuff. You may ask if I am not concentrating on the work that I am supposed to do. I do, but subconsciously like all others, you keep communicating with different energies and they keep communicating back to you.

Think about the times when you are probably doing something else and a thought strikes you….Eureka, you have the answer you were waiting for!!! Come on, I am sure you have had such Eureka moments.

To sum it up, use things that gets you high to your advantage. Use it to get into a proper frame of mind and dont use it as a mechanism for procrastinating. Multi-tasking will come naturally to you.

Wonder why people sometimes work(effectively) while listening to music? Think again…

In a minimalist mode, I write today’s post…duh, all my posts have been minimalist posts or rather I write very less per post. I believe 1-2 paragraphs are good per post for a new idea. It helps retain attention of the reader. This is not a must but it helps. Of course if you have a lot to write…like 10 different ways to do this or that, then such posts ought to be big or staged.

Its like the search results of a search engine…the attention is restricted to the ‘golden triangle’. So why do lot of social media sites clutter data????

  • More data, less attention, less consumption
  • Less data, more attention, more consumption

Wonder where the world went wrong and thought more is better. Weren’t we taught as kids that we shouldn’t stuff too much food into our mouth? You can always push it inside, but food undigested is useless. Similarly, information undigested is useless!

I have heard some people say I am neutral. I always felt there should be some other way of conveying that. In a way saying ‘I am Neutral’ is bit of strong and sometimes comes as being harsh to a question.

In my current job, I heard one of my colleagues use a sentence which impacted me much. He says, ‘I don’t have an opinion on way or the other’. He tells it in a flat monotone that you know that he isn’t going to swing one way or the other.

In one my experiments for the new year, I want to try this. This stems from my interest in being more silent(contrary to the chatty me). One of the issues I have had is refraining from commenting on a topic or having an opinion to the topic in discussion. Sometimes in the heat of things, we all get judgemental without knowing explicitly. I have been party to such crimes many a time.

Take more care in dealing with hypocritical and insensitive people. When people know that you are having a tough time with such kind of people, advice in tons will come your way. You might be more interested in sinking underwater or get to a cave so that you don’t have to talk about that person. But more often than not, a strategy needs to be devised that lasts the tide.

So what could be something you can do?

While I don’t want my blog to be a rant-o-rama center of excellence, I surely want to use it in a minimalist way to let my thoughts out. I may not be special but I am not simple either. My mind thinks two things at the same time, and I have always been amazed, amused and annoyed at it(not really in the same order and not together always).

It might be an impediment to my success in my current line of work but I cant help it. On the other hand, I can channelize them to more productive use in other fields. Everyday, without conscious effort(Naaah, I cant do this conscious thing) I end up exploring new thought processes with this ‘Monkey’ mind of mine. You may ask how I can do this without a conscious effort? I have been asking the same question too…But the answer I found out is that there is a higher energy controlling(not to sound cliché) every outcome of mine. The result of this is a involuntary manifestation of what is good or what I end up doing. While this doesn’t happen everyday, it surely is predominant.

The sum total of all this is that I don’t get to choose my goals, they choose me. Again…what the crap??!!! you may ask, but then like I said before I write because sometimes I cant do anything else. No matter what other task I might have(even if I am about to fall asleep), if a very strong thought or concept comes to me, I have to get up and get it written down. Whether it turns out to be a blog or not, I don’t know.

Looking at last year, I have forcefully tried to ignore those strong currents in sheer madness or arrogance. But now I realize that if words come, I better share it here for the better good(or worse).

My journey, much to the bewilderment of others, continues….if you are my friend, I know you will understand the above….if not, HAVE A GREAT DAY AHEAD :-)
