According to the dictionary, a ‘Mind Game’ refers to ‘any game designed to exercise the intellect ‘.

We have heard people referring to someone saying that he/she is playing mind games. While there are lot of negative intonations to the word ‘Mind Game’, I am more intrigued by the abstract variants of situations where mind games manifest into being.

I was seeing ‘Coffee with Anu’ today in Vijay TV where singer Karthik was saying that a lot of process that goes into being a singer or that being a music director is more of a mind game. While there is a creator side, there is also a side where the music director or singer has to satisfy the director. Here the director is the highest creator there and looks at a much more bigger perspective.

I felt it was very profound(at least my interpretation of the aspect of mind games). We all think we are correct because our mind tells and sometimes our intellect establishes that we are correct in our school of thought irrespective of our experience and exposure. But many times we are proved wrong or our interpretations gather no steam towards the finish line. We are either frustrated or elated depending on the outcome.

Beyond that, it is a mind game that teaches you the best lesson and is the best exercise. It trains you FROM WITHIN. Take a moment to let that sink into you, it trains you from within….

This article is not an attempt to provide you with ways to make your decision on whether to join a startup or join a MNC. This is my radical outlook into the world of startup and what it gives you back.

Sense of pride - In being a part of a new beginning hopefully revolutionizing the world that you feel needs a change in one way or the other.

Contentment - satisfaction of having fired enough neurons and feel it was worth burning the mid-night oil

Realization - sometimes having been arrogant and stupid in arguments only to find that you were wrong yet have the best colleagues to understand and say yes…you tried… provoked their thoughts and evoked good decisions.

Mind on Steroids - firing those neurons and compelled to think out-of-the-box, on-your-feet, at-the-eleventh-hour and producing a true beauty of a solution

Gives you wings - nope, its not about redbull, but truly a liberating feeling of being one among the stars(irrespective of success or failure) and having had the space to fly(both horizontally and vertically)

Think about it, its about money, glory, fame, success, exposure etc but the units of measurement and currency of wealth is different.

But when one of those kids is from your own blood, the experience is totally different. This post is dedicated to my nephew Aditya. The guy has a smile that can sink a thousand ships. Well, atleast for me, his smile does WONDERS. The kid is very smart(ok, for me he is smarter than an average kid of his age and anyone in this world). He doesn’t like to be told this ‘Good Boy, Bad Boy’ thing. I sometimes fight with him and he goes all out to bring me down(thanks to Pogo TV channel and all the other cartoon channels). But towards the end of a fight, I start smiling(as if to say the fight was a joke) and he bursts into laughter and the whole thing turns upside down for the better.

If you want his help, just tell “Aditya, please help me” and he takes a ’superhero avatar’ and comes to your rescue. Very well mannered kid and certain acts of his amaze me.

He is currently in Australia and having the time of his life.

Adi Boy, when you do understand this, I want you to know that your Chittapa(Uncle) loves you a lot and will always love you. You are a very nice kid and just be the way you are.

With Lots of Love,
