From Steve Pavlina’s Blog – An Interesting thought

I happened to read an article in Steve Pavlina’s Blog titled  Lessons From Ron Lewison (1938-2008) and there was something that touched me and I was able to associate myself with what Ron had said to Steve in 2004. I quote Ron “It’s always good to join groups where you just barely qualify for membership. You’ll improve a lot faster that way because the other people will help lift you up to a new level.”

In fact Steve Pavlina has blogged about this specific advice in his post here.

While for some it can be a nightmare even to think that way, I think the other way around and totally agree with Ron. It is a strange coincidence that around the time that Ron mentioned this to Steve, I kinda of took a striking similar thought process within me and my subsequent career change(I feel) is a testimony to that.

Now why would people feel it might be a nightmare to just think about it. It probably is because one might fear what might be an ‘audacious’ move even from the thought level. It could be viewed as being arrogant etc.

If you look at people who have achieved something or the other, be it people in public life or people within your own circle, there will this visible trend as worded by Ron that was the trigger.

So go for it!!!
