Well, I first wanted to write about Nokia acquisition of Symbian today but the word seems to have spread like fire. Just yesterday Nokia had acquired Plazes, a Geo-based social networks for an undisclosed amount.
You might know that Nokia acquired Trolltech late January 2008. During the press release, Nokia claimed that the move will “further increase the competitiveness of S60 and Series 40.”
And barely 5 months, Nokia acquires Symbian…Yipeeee!!! Looks like Nokia is all out to acquire and thereby expand its dominance in the mobile arena. At the same time, it also seems to picking its arsenal smartly.
With Google’s Android based Google Phone being delayed(or atleast not expected within this year), Nokia surely seems to be pushing the gas on the mobile world!!!
