Check this out! You can use a mobile and control/initiate fragrances to be spread.
Here is the article, also covered in ‘The Hindu‘ today. The company that has created it is the famous ‘NTT DoCoMo’. I thought they were more into 3G+ and Video etc. But seems like there is a lighter side of their work as well. I am sure people will buy this, but then is it a must?
Taking an Healthcare Outlook into this, may be they can have mosquito repellents triggered through mobile phones. Probably, have them call through mobile phones on their way home and get them activated well in advance so by the time they reach home, the mosquitos are GONE!
While this Mobile Fragrance from DoCoMo is done through infrared port(from Mobile to device with fragrance cartridges), we can use other protocols to issue commands from a mobile to the dispensing devices. This could help emulate ‘remote”ness.
Some possible social schemes through Remote Mobile Activation methods.
- Pesticides
- Mosquito killers
- Epidemic prevention sprays
- Quarantine Injection Schemes which do not need or can do away with Human presence
- Critical Care ?
I sincerely feel mobile technologies can be put to good social use more than the mobile health vans and labs that are in practice(although limited fashion) today!
