Generally when we say Rule of thumb, we refer to a common benchmark that serves as a reference. I came across this website which does a one up on the phrase. The website is RulesofThumb.org.

The goal of this initiative is listed in the website and I quote “The goal of this website is to gather every rule of thumb on earth into one gargantuan, easily searchable online reference database that will be accessible from anywhere in the world and continue to grow forever.”

This website is not to be seen as one of those famous quotations website. Its got rules of thumb categorized under different topics.
